The Wellington boot refers to a boot designed by the Duke of Wellington, victor in the Battle of Waterloo near Brussels where Napoleon Bonaparte, Corsican, was finally defeated and later imprisoned again on the small remote island of St Helena; Wellington was subsequently Prime Minister of Britain on three occasions.
