Jumping bristletails
They appeared around 400 million years ago, among the first insects to appear. They live mostly in leaf litter, decomposing matter, under bark, or under stones and rocks, or in crevices. They are 5 to 20 mm (0.2 to 0.8 inch) long when fully grown, and can live as long as 7 years.
