Vikram Sarabhai
Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai was an Indian scientist and innovator widely regarded as the father of India's space programme primarily because of his contribution to establish ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization). Establishment of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) was one of his greatest achievements. He successfully convinced the government of the importance of a space programme for a developing country like India after the Russian Sputnik launch and served as first chairman of The Indian National Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR) in 1962 which later became ISRO.
