A man went to the market to sell a goat. After some time, another man came and demanded for the goat. He brought out the money for the goat stretching it outwards to the seller. But both men got distracted, and when the cause of distraction died down, they realized the goat had eaten half of the note, making the note worthless. After much arguement, they were not able to conclude who the owner of the goat was. Who owns the goat?

As the purchaser had only extended the money to the seller, the seller still owns the goat. The seller has not as yet confirmed the rate at which he is going to sell the goat.
So, the goat still belongs to the seller.

The goat is owned by the original owner. Eating a note is not proof of sale

Three sisters are identical triplets. The oldest by minutes is Sarah, and Sarah always tells anyone the truth. The next oldest is Shreya, and Shreya always will tell anyone a lie. Shirin is the youngest of the three. She sometimes lies and sometimes tells the truth.

Vikram, an old friend of the family's, came over one day and as usual he didn't know who was who, so he asked each of them one question.

Vikram asked the sister that was sitting on the left, "Which sister is in the middle of you three?" and the answer he received was, "Oh, that's Sarah."

Vikram then asked the sister in the middle, "What is your name?" The response given was, "I'm Shirin."

Vikram turned to the sister on the right, then asked, "Who is that in the middle?" The sister then replied, "She is Shreya."

This confused Vikram; he had asked the same question three times and received three different answers.

When he came home he noticed the money was missing and he asked the two only other people in the house what happened. The maid said she saw the bill on the table while dusting the library and she hid it under the book. The butler said he got the bill and put it between pages 35 and 36 because he thought it would be safer in the book than under the book. One of them is lying. Who? Why?
