After further 8 years the father would be 2.2 times the sons age.

F = 3*S
(F+8) = 2.5 (S+8)
F + 8 = 2.5 S + 20

replacing F with 3*S we get

3 S + 8 = 2.5 S +20
Solving this we get S = 24 (present age of Son)
therefore present age of Father is 72
The ratio (72+16) / (24+16) is 88 / 40 = 2.2

Rotin is currently 24 and his father is 72. In 16 years, the father will be 88 and the son will be 40. The father would be 2.2 times older, he would probably die before reaching 88.
