You start with 27 cubes which forms a large cube. How to remove one from middle of large cube without touching others?

You start with small and equal cubes, 27 of which are put together to form a large cube. How does one then remove 1 from the middle of the large cube to leave only 26, while not touching any of the sides of the large cube?

Here we have 27 cubes makes up one large cube (6^3 = 216) . Now we can easily remove (1) middle of the large cube without touching the remaining 26 cube (If we remove 1 then 216 will become 26).

I think large cube is only a hypothetical identity. you touch only small cubes.
