When dealing with spokes or any type of separation between spaces it's always n-1 for the spaces. So therefore the number of spaces = 16-1 = 15.
Suppose there are 16 birds. Now if one-fourth of those birds fall from the air and out of that one-fourth, one-third dies. Then how many birds are alive?
