Take out 2 match stickes from each of middle boxes. Making the formation as below
4. 2. 4
2. 0. 2
4 2 4
Now add 1 stick in each of the corner boxes. Making the formation as below
5. 2. 5. = 12
2. 0 2
5. 2. 5 = 12
--. --- --
12. --- 12

Now there are total of 28 sticks In place of earlier 32.

Suppose you remove all four sticks in top left move all four sticks in second row right to top right corner. Similarly the middle four sticks in last row have to be moved to left corner. Finished.
