58.5, 31.5 and 18 pounds


Let initial amount be x, y and z pounds
if player with x loses first, player with y loses second and player with z loses last then we have following:
game 1 game 2 game 3 money left
(x-y-z) *2 *2 =36 (1)---> x-y-z=9
(y*2- (x-y-z)- 2z) *2 =36 (2)---> -x+3y-z=18
z*2 *2 -2*(x-y-z)- (2y-(x-y-z)-2z) =36 (3)---> -x-y+7z=36
from above we find x=58.5 pounds, y=31.5 pounds and z=18 pounds
