In two minutes’ time it will be twice as many minutes short of 11 as it was past 10 o’clock 25 minutes ago.

Explanation:

When I spoke, say it was x minutes after 10 o’clock – i.e, (60-x) minutes before 11 o’clock.

As per given information we can write the following equation;

58 – x = 2(x – 25)

58 – x = 2x – 50

3x = 108

Therefore;

x = 36

Therefore, the time was 10:36.
