Sum of ®1000 is in the form of ®10 and ®50. If the total number of note are 60, find the number of notes of each type?

Sid goes to a bakery and buys three kinds of biscuits. The first one is priced at 5 rupees, second one at 3 rupees and third one at 0.5 rupees.

If Sid bought 100 biscuits in total, how many biscuits do you think he bought of each type ?

10x + 50y = 1000 (assuming 10R notes are x and 50R notes are y)
=> x + 5Y = 100 -- eq1
x + y = 60 -- eq 2

so
4y = 40
y = 10
x = 50

So 10 R notes are 50 and 50 R notes are 10.
