A man leaves $10,000 in his will, to which there are 6 beneficiaries - his three sons and their wives. The 3 wives receive $3,960 of which Jennifer gets $100 more than Rachel and Holly gets $100 more than Jennifer. Of the sons, James gets twice as much as his wife, Eric gets the same as his wife, and Sam gets 50% more than his wife.

Sol.
3 wives receive to $3960
Now, Rachel + 100 = Jennifer & Jennifer + 100 = Holly
So, Rachel + 100 +100 = Holly
R + J + H = 3960
R + R+100 + R +100+100 = 3960
Thus, R = $1220, J = $1320 & H = $1420.

If, we twice H & add 50% more in J the adding total of James, SAm & Eric = $6040 (10000-3960)

Thus,

James = $2840 (2*1420)
Sam = $1980 (1980 + (1980*50%))
Eric = $1220 (same as his wife Rachel
