101^2/100^2 = 1.0201......

Ans:
If side of square is 100
Then area =100 ^2
If increase side by 1% ie from 100to101
Then area will be =101^2
Therefore increase in area
=101^2/100^2
=1.0201
=2.01%

increase side of square = a+a*1%
= a+a*1/100
= a+0.01a
= 1.01a
area of square= a^2
= (1.01a)^2
= 1.020a^2
% increase in area = (1.020a^2-a^2/a^2)*100
= 0.020*100
= 2% (approx)
