We have three empty cups. You need to put in your lateral thinking cap and place ten sugar cubes in three cups such that every cup contains an odd number of sugar cubes.
Can you do it?

Fill a jug with water measured with the available 3 empty cups. Then dissolve the 10 sugar cube in the jug of water and pour the dissolved solution equally into the empty cups. Lo! and behold, you have 3 cups full of water with odd number of sugar cubes in a dissolved state in each cup.

With 3 separate cups it is impossible. You need to place one cup inside the other to get it work.
An example would be cup1 2 cubes+ cup2 3 cubes and cup3 5 cubes (cup2 inside cup1), it would mean cup1- 5, cup2- 3, cup3- 5, all odds and total of 10 cubes.

You have a large number of friends coming over and they all get thirsty. Your first friend asks for 1/2 a cup of water. Your second friend asks for 1/4 a cup of water. Your third friend asks for 1/8 a cup of water, etc.

How many cups of water do you need to serve your friends?
