A police jeep is chasing a culprit going on a motorbike.
The motorbike crosses a turning at a speed of 72 km/hr.
The jeep follows it at a speed of 90 km/hr, crossing the turning 10 seconds later than the bike.
Assuming that they travel at constant speeds, how far from the turning will the jeep catch up with the bike (in km)?

1km

Speed of motor bike = 72 km/hr = 20 m/s
Speed of Jeep = 90 km/h = 25 m/s
Catch distance- x
Time taken to cover  distance by motor bike = x/20 sec
Time taken to cover distance by jeep = x/25 sec (plus 10 sec difference)
x/20=x/25 + 10 --> x= 1000m= 1km

Rohan and Sanya were out for a bike ride when the tyre on Rohan's bike burst.
They were 20 km from home, so they decided Rohan would walk back while Sanya would take the working bike, leave it further along the road and walk the rest of the way.
When Rohan reached the bike, he would ride it home.
If Rohan walks at 5 km/hr and rides at 12 km/hr and Sanya walks at 4 km/hr and rides at 10 km/hr, how far should Sanya ride the bike for both to arrive home at the same time?
