Its simple
a+a+a+2a+b+2b = 180 ...........linear pair as AB is a straight line
5a + 3b = 180

4b + 2b = 180 .....linear pair
6b = 180
b = 30
So a = 18

a +b = 48

a+a+a+2a+b+2b =180,
5a+3b=180,
4b+2b=180,
6b=180,
b=30,
5a+3(30)=180,
5a=90,
a=18,
so a+b=48.
