area of white region = area of white region without considering grey region - area of grey region

= (22/7 * 2^2) - (22/7 * 1^2)
= 22/7*(4 - 1)
= 66/7
= 9.4285

since while area + inner circle together constitute 4*pi
and the inner circle is pi
therefore white area alone is 3*pi ans
