A woman bought a used car for $600 and sold it a friend for $800. She later bought it back for $1,000 and resold it for $1,200. Did she make any profit and if so, how much?

Answer is 400
On each sold she made profit of 200

She did not make any profit or loss.
Explanation:
Purchased for 600 and sold for 800
So, Profit = 200

Spent to repurchase (loss) - 200

Repurchased for 1,000 and sold for 1,200
And Profit = 200
So this profit tallies with the amount spent to repurchase it.
Therefore no profit and no loss.

you're so wrong... Looks at if you are buying a different car (which is not different than buying the same car twice) and you'll realise what's your mistake.
