John is engaged to Sally.
Fred is the engineer and Betty is not engaged to the engineer so it is clear that fred is engaged to joan.
only Bill and Betty are left so those two are engaged.

JOHN ===> SALLY
FRED ===> JOAN
BILL ===> BETTY
