Suresh Raina was the first player to complete 2000 runs in IPL matches. While playing for Chennai Super Kings Raina achieved the feat during the course of his 44-run knock against Kolkata Knight Riders at the M A Chidambaram Stadium in 2012. That was quickly followed by Gautam Gambhir and Tendulkar in the same season.
