Epsom Oaks or The Oaks horse race is named after a house in Epsom. It is the second-oldest of the five Classic races of Britain, after the St Leger. It is run at Epsom Downs over a distance of 1 mile, 4 furlongs and 6 yards (2,420 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in early June.
