The Indian women’s cricket team become the first to use the DRS (Decision Review System).
Indian captain Mithali Raj opted to go for DRS when in the first innings against English batswoman Natalie Scriver, who tried to sweep spinner Deepti Sharma's first ball and failed to execute the shot. Sushma Verma then took a very good catch behind the stumps but the umpire was not convinced with the appeal and gave it a not-out. The decision went in India’s favour after DRS provided enough evidence and the umpire had to reverse the decision.
