Balbir Singh Senior conferred with Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achieved Award of Hocey India 2014.
As a award he recieved a trophy and a cash prize of 30 Lakh rupees.

He is often called Balbir Singh Senior to distinguish him from other Indian hockey players named Balbir Singh.
