Usually an UE will be assigned one IP address, per PDN to which it is trying to avail services from, using LTE network. This can be flavors of IPV4/IPV6 or both, if the network supports and UE has requested for. So far it is only IPV4 that is supported by many.

Hope this answers

Maximum 8 data bearers can be supported in lte network. So an ue can get at most 8 Ip addresses for 8 different PDN. please correct me if I am wrong.

In UMTS it was 11 PDP (primary + secondary) each primary used to have a separate IP. Not sure about LTE.
There is a multi mapping here between UE, EPS bearers and the number of PDN conenctions.

In LTE also an UE can have atmost 11 EPS bearers. Always it is the EPS default bearer establishment (on connecting to a PDN) which assigns a new IP address to UE and that remains established throughout the lifetime of the PDN connection to provide the UE with always-on IP connectivity w.r.t that PDN. The UE can then have rest of the bearers as Dedicated in the same PDN (No more IP addresses for UE in that PDN).

To make it more simpler:

1. For an UE with single PDN connectivity: 1 Default + rest Dedicated EPS bearers (Hence 1 IP Address for UE)

2. For an UE with multi PDN connectivity (Let's say n ): It is 'n' Default + rest Dedicated EPS bearers across these 'n' PDN connections. Hence 'n' IP addresses assigned to UE.

Overall an UE is limited to use only 11 bearers across different PDNs. This number 11 can be just 1 default bearer for each PDN also.

Hope this clarifies. (Refer to section 'EPS bearer identity' from 24.007, as well 23.401 )
