How to do a System Backup in Windows8

Trying to do a simple backup of the operating system, as the new PCs don't come with install or recovery disks. Cannot figure out how! tried burning to DVD, but every other disk showed errors, and it was going to take something like 8 or 9 DVDs.

What do I have to do to back up the OS? I dont believe in simply backing up to a partitioned sector of the hard drive, as a disk crash makes that useless.

I have started using windows8 few days back. Not happy with this. I am not running more than 6 tabs in Google Chrome browser. Apart from this i have closed all the applications.

When i saw the Task Manager and observed that Due to High Disk usage my Laptop is hanged. In More details i have found that average disk usage is 99%.

I don't know why it is happening like this and what is the solution for this problem.

I have Windows 8.1 64-bit! Irfanview works fine for me but I've had to un-install.

Now I'm trying to re-install it to get it to function properly but it's telling me to manually create the directory and try again.

Are any of you experiencing this difficulty? Will/can some one please show me how to get this installed again and up and running?

I have the most up to date installment pack for Windows 8.1, How ever, every since I've had this, I can't install any more applications/programs. Not a single one.

Every thing else works fine. I keep getting "can't create temp folder" error every time I try to install new programs. I've deleted the temp folder and tried "install ad admin" and those things but nothing works.

Please help.

I have a quick question; Should I download a free antivirus program like AVG to supplement window defender or is window defender all I need with windows 8.1 ?

If I did download AVG free would there be any conflict issues with window defender ?
