What is LAA (License assisted access) and how this term is different from LTE ?

What things would be considered by an operator while selecting either LAA or LWA ?

Expansion of LAA is Licensed Assisted Access. This term is used when LTE is enabled over wifi band. This is one of the solution to increase LTE throughput. To enable this technology, LTE devices specially handsets would be upgraded to support 5 Ghz.

Hi harshitha,

LAA is also a LTE cell but it will work under normal licences spectrum. So basically LAA is unlicenced spectrum which used only for the aggrecation. It is operating in WIFI band. But LTE is purly an licenced spectrum cell and its operation is independent to others but incase of LAA it is depending on LTE cell.
