Preamble format 4 is known as short RACH of SRACH because of its short preamble sequence duration. It is transmitted on the UpPTS within the special sub-frame.

Hi... what do you meant by short preamble sequence ... how its varies from normal preamble sequence .. And why short RACH is needed in TDD even though it supports all other formats as FDD ... how its useful
