which parameter describes LTE cell operates in TDD or FDD?

When UE starts scanning cell it knows which band it is scanning. TDD and FDD has different bands.

Hi jaganath, UE goes for with scanning with all supported bands which are predefined available in USIM. based on reference signal positions it may came to know which type of cell it is.

UE knows whether it supports TDD or not, If it supports then it knows which band is TDD and FDD, so when it strat scanning the cell itself it will come to know TDD or FDD

Hi Sripathi,
Secondary Synchronization Signal(SSS) will give Information regarding the cell is operating on which mode either  FDD or TDD mode.
By Reading the SSS(Secondary Synchronization Signal) the UE will come to know which Transmission Mode the cell is operating either FDD or TDD.
Frame timing,PCI,Cyclic Prefix(Normal or Extended).
