How to force the browser for the favicon update?

I have a new favicon image for the QueryHome but somehow it is not appearing on the browser. Thought the best way to ask this at QueryHome itself.

I got the answer and solution also so thought to publish here -
1. open the favicon.ico i.e. www.mysite.com/favicon.ico
2. Press ctrl + f5
3. restart the browser.

Looks for firefox version (my current version is firefox-29.0-5.fc20.x86_64) favicons don't work. I'm sure that in some earlier firefox versions they were supported.

This issue seems to be distribution independent. Anyone has any idea?

Facing some weird issue, whenever I open my website in the crome it is picking the old CSS file while in Firefox it is picking the latest. How can I force the browser to pick the latest CSS?

We want to implement GCM for the QueryHome on Chrome Browser, but does not have any clue. Any pointer and sample code would be helpful. Your help will help us to reach-out more and more people.

Is there a way I can clear my session data from the browser? This is for debugging when I change something. Currently no matter what I do short of exiting the browser, my session data is always retained. This makes testing very cumbersome. I am using PHP/MySQL for development.
