Though I am not expert in networking concepts but have limited knowledge which helps me on day to day basis to resolve basic networking issues. Under lay network corresponds to actual physical network components which are connected to provide network services. Over lay network is created over the under lay network to provide connectivity between two machines which are actually part of one LAN (one subnet) but actually located at different sites which involves many switches and routers in between two machines of a same LAN. I don't know how exactly it work only the concept I know at a very high level.
A networking device may have control plane, management plane, service plane and data plane. How I can define these different planes associated with a device switch and router and what exactly it does ?
