LTE: For operators, VoLTE or CS fallback which one would be economical solution to provide voice services ?

Whenever a new technology comes it provides better user experience. Since the role out of a new technology requires a lot of money investment. It makes services expensive for users. For what reasons an operator would like to deploy VoLTE when it is already have Circuit switch fall back for voice services. In India, Reliance Jio is a new player in telecom market that's why it is rolled out VoLTE since it was not having any legacy technology to provide voice services. What about others ? Are they deploying VoLTE just for the namesake that they also support VoLTE or really there is a need for that ?

Hi,

VOLTE is cheaper than normal CS fall-back option. CS fall back require CS BW and LTE BW, but if you see VOLTE they do not need much BW and no more intelligence of fall back mode. you will get charged only once for all services you avail, maintaining different service charge is another headache for operators. If an operator dont have CS coverage then you cannot fall back for the voice call, still in some rural places is not having good coverage so if you want to deploy LTE with CS fall-back then you have to deploy 2G/3G as well, so you can reduce investment by making VOLTE.

Is it required separate BW for Volte Network ? LTE BW can be used for Volte network as per my knowledge. Please elaborate more on this.
