Downlink uses OFDMA radio access mechanism while uplink uses SC-FDMA that is the main reason data throughput in less in uplink compare to downlink. There would be other factors also but as per my knowledge, radio access mechanism is the main reason for difference in throughput of DL and UL.

UL data rate is less because
1. UL prb allocation for pusch is less compare to DL pdsch allocation. In UL , ue need to have prb for pucch and rach .
2. In UL , ue transmit from one antenna only but in DL can receive from 2 antenna.
3. In UL 16/64 qam modulation is used while in DL 64/256 qam can be used.

This is not a usual case. Assume an eNodeB has multiple bearers (GBR and non-GBR) with the UE, eNodeB enforces subscribed downlink data rate by using the different scheduling algorithm. Can eNodeB reject the uplink grant assuming UE is crossing its subscribed limit ?

I went through the call flow diagram that is shown in 23.401 specification and tried to understand data flow (down link and up link both) through indirect data tunnels. I was bit confused that's why post my query here.

if you look into 5G BW it is huge than 4G why is that required,if you can achieve more data rate in less BW why do we need more BW in 5G
