LTE: What is bearer split concept and where is it used ?

Hi ,

Bearer split is used in dual connectivity and NR. When UE connected to two ENB bearer split will be applicable.
Two split is available in Dual connectivity. one is packet split and another one is bearer split.

UE will have one bearer from primary ENB and one more Bearer from secondary ENB in bearer split.

SGW will send the data to both ENB for the same UE using two bearers.

Packet level split is when single IP flow (single service packets) is split into two bearers at MeNB and SgNB, having the same bearer ID, and forwarded in those two bearers concurrently.
