LTE: Why E-UTRA has provision to configure only measObject with a single frequency ?

I have gone through spec 36.331.
"E-UTRAN only configures a single measurement object for a given frequency, i.e. it is not possible to configure two or more measurement objects for the same frequency with different associated parameters, e.g. different offsets and/ or blacklists".

why such limitations have been there ?

When the UE is in RRC connected mode. E-NodeB (or RRC) has to sent a set of cells for which UE has to report. The reason is UE maintains a single measurement object list, a single reporting configuration list and a single measurement identities list. It has parameter only to configure one parameter and do the measurements for that and the reason for that is:

  • to ensure that, whenever the UE has a measConfig, it includes a measObject for the serving frequency;
  • to configure at most one measurement identity using a reporting configuration with the purpose set to
    'reportCGI';

Unlike for A3 and A5 events, for A6 event frequency offset is not considered while evaluating entering and leaving condition. Can anyone please explain this particular case ?

What is the use of offsetFreq parameter sent inside MeasObjctE-UTRA ? how ue behave differently for this parameter ?

I have two cells having same operating frequency with different PCI's. After applying measurement config I got neighbor cell measurement report and then I am triggering for ECGI request but I am not getting ECGI report.

So I am guessing there is problem in configuration of DRX which is used to give proper idle period to UE.

Please help if any one have experience on this.
