PHP is not working after upgrade from 13.10 to 14.04? [CLOSED]

When going to the web site all see is Index of / and the page like you would see when doing a directory list, but it is blank (no files listed - just the apache version, etc.). I have looked in the logs and have checked the apache conf files and it looks the php module is set to load, but the index.php is not loading.

Any suggestions?

I found the issue.  The default directory for web pages is /var/www/html.  I changed it to what it needs to be.

I installed Fedora 19 on my laptop, and it worked beautifully with the already installed Windows 8. When I upgraded the Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. Now it boots straight to Windows 8.1 and grub does not appear.

I disabled secure boot in the firmware.

I do not even know which version of grub was booting the UEFI system before; it just worked.

Can anyone suggest:

  1. What grub would the Fedora 19 installer have provided to boot it and Windows 8? (grub2, grub-efi,...)
  2. Can anyone point to any documentation on how to fix this?

I am thinking of upgrading from 10.04 to 12.04, just a click away in the software centre (no particular reason other than to benefit from recent fixes and continued support).

There are probably no easy answers (though I'd like some brief ones), but I wonder how common soft/hardware in/compatibility related problems are, resulting from such an upgrade?

Also, I am assuming all custom configurations will remain unchanged after such an upgrade (default email and custom settings, www browser bookmarks, various .rc files, repository settings for auto upgrades of unsupported software, and such), please correct me if should not assume so.

Has anyone else got the notice for Windows 10 Upgrade for free from Windows 7 and 8.1. If so have you upgraded and if you did how do you like it.

Also did you lose all saved files on your computer, did you have to put them on another drive?

I upgraded to fedora 20 from fedora 19 using fedup. Everything went well except for some weird issues with Thunderbird. The latter is now giving me a pile of weird permission errors and disk space errors. There is 250GB free space, so I know that is not the problem. Obviously this has something to do with the permissions on the thunderbird folder, but I do not have the knowledge to rectify the problem.

Please suggest how to proceed?
