3G plan on LTE Phones?

I am using Samsung Galaxy S3 with 3G plan and planning to buy Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE. Now the question is that will I still be able to use 3G?

Also I believe 3G sim card is same as the LTE sim card, is my understanding correct?

You will be able to use the 3G and 4G if only you will have 4G plan and obviously the coverage.
I believe Samsung S5 is 4G capable, because this is the main problem, not the backward (3G) compatibility.

As to the other question your understanding is not correct.
It seem you are a not a technical person, so I will spare you explanations. It should be enough when I say that among many the authentication keys are different.

3G sim is not same as 4G sim, though I am not sure if 3G sim will work in an lte phone but reverse is true i.e Lte sim will work in a 3G phone.

And also you will be able to use 3G with LTE phone...

Cyanogen Mod For Samsung Note 3?

Wiki is listing Samsung Galaxy Note 3 only for LTE but on detailed page it lists both specs of LTE and GSM. Does it mean it's really same ROM for both models ?

I need Cyanogenmod on my note 3 international GSM, so is it possible that i install the LTE version on it.
