Why does lte support only 64 preamble sequences ?

What calculation or logic behind to derive this 64 ?

Hi neeraj,

Preambles mean its a sequence or signature. with one rootsequenceindex UE can able to generate MAX of 6 preambles by doing simple cyclic shift.If want to generate more than that preambles it is complex to generate preamble sequence ,that is the reason it is restricted to 64.

Actually there are three resource allocation types being used to allocate resources to UE(s) in downlink and uplink. For downlink all three (Type 0, 1 and 2) used but for uplink only resource allocation type 2 is being used.

I found that LTE supports up to 64 QAM modulation scheme . From where this limitation comes out ?

why QPSK modulation scheme is used for all control channels in LTE ?

EnodeB considers CQI feedback from the UE before creating the transport block.
As per my understanding PUCCH resource allocation is not very dynamic. In this case how UE decide to use a specific MCS (Modulation and Coding Scheme) while using PUCCH channel ?
