Various types of nodes like relay, proxy, redirect, translator use diameter protocol. Functionality of each node is different. As far as Relay node is concerned, it receives a diameter packet and looks into the information like Diameter-Host and Diameter-Realm and based on this information it can change value of these two AVPs to forward to correct destination. Other than these two AVPs, nothing is changed in a diameter message.

Hello Vikram, I just want to correct few words here. Destination-Host and Destination-Realm AVPs are used to decide correct route and based on these AVPs value, routing-AVPs are modified not the Destination-Host and Destination-Realm.

I know the basic differences between following Diameter nodes
- Diameter Relay Agent
- Diameter Proxy Agent
- Diameter Redirect Agent

But actually I am looking for the use cases where these above nodes are deployed to strengthen my knowledge.
Thanks in advance.

In one Diameter blog, I saw a statement in which mentioned, if a Diameter node receive CER from unknown peer it responds back to that peer with Result-Code AVP set to "DIAMETER_UNKNOWN_PEER".
Now my query, Does a Diameter node keep its potential peers information in advance ?

Just for curiosity, I want to see a real network traffic from Chrome Browser when I browse for any pages. I want to see Diameter Messages if I want to take a capture on Wireless Network Connection from Wireshark. If it possible kindly suggest the conditions on which it can be captured?

Is it possible that MCC MNC gets changed in the same Diameter session without changing session ID while in Roaming???
As I have come to across an unsupported scenario when some users are roaming in Iceland operator MCC MNC and suddenly switch to different operator MCC MNC which belongs to the USA within the same DCCA session i.e without closing the PDP context and opening a new one (that should not be possible, unsupported scenario). Is it possible??? I'm confused here.
