How do I debug why Centos is asking for fonts to be installed?

Quite a few times a day, both the latest Pan & Firefox available in standard CentOS repositories elicit what
(now) appears to be a CentOS request to install fonts,e.g.:

This latest message says: Pan newsreader wants to install fonts
- Thai
- Cherokee

At first I had thought it was Pan and Firefox causing these messages, but I was just told it's actually CentOS which is making these requests.

Hence, I ask:
Q: How do I debug why these requests are being made?
Q: How do I prevent these messages from popping up?

Apparently the program thinks that it needs those fonts.

Q: How do I prevent these messages from popping up?
Using gconf-editor, unset /apps/gnome-packagekit/enable_font_helper

In order to make the same installation on two servers where all was installed via yum/rpm, I want to dump a list of all installed packages on the first server.

My problem is if I just "yum list installed", some weird formatting prints packages information on 2 lines...
I have to

 # yum list installed | awk '{print $1}'
 | grep -v '@' | grep -vE '^[0-9]'

Is there a cleaner way?

 # rpm -aq

Is not OK because it includes version in a way it's more hard to parse just the package name.

Google gives many links to such a thing, but when I pursue them I do not get to an URL.
Where I can actually download one.
