OLTP is online transaction processing systems and ODS os operational database system.In OLTP we can save the current data, it depends on the day to day transactions and it stores the day to day data.

In ODS we can store data for a month also and it is not restricted to a specific day or transaction.

OLTP:

1. It is dynamic.                                                

2. It follows normalization.                              

3. It contains current data.                              

4. It is designed to support transactional   process                                                          

5. It contains detailed data.   

ODS:

It is designed to support operational process

Similarities:

2. Integrated database.  

3. Enterprise data.    

4. Subject oriented database.    

Differences:

5. Contains current information.    

6. Data is volatile.      

7. Contains detail information.   

8. Subject oriented database.
