Can we have same address for default and dedicated bearers related to the same UE. If yes then why, if no then why not?

Hi Folks,

I am trying to create multiple dedicated bearers for UE with same tft set. Is it possible to have same tft set for multple dedicated bearers.?

The reason for asking this is I am actually facing a problem while creating multiple dedicated beares. As soon as second dedicated bearer established for UE, UE is sending Bearer Resource Modification with cause (Regular Deactivation). Couldn't able to find why it is happening.!

Please provide some suggestions..

Yes, Same IP address can be assigned for both default and dedicated bearer to a single UE as long as both of the bearers belong to same APN. IP is assigned per APN basis.

Network allocates IP addresses to UE on per PDN basis. First time network allocates an IP address to UE for default PDN. Next time on wards, UE may request to another IP address by using PDN connectivity request.
An UE may hold max of 8 E-RAB .
All of those E-RABs may be default bearers or combination of dedicated and default bearer(s).
At least one default bearer for an UE, is necessary to maintain connectivity with the network.

All the dedicated bearers associated with one default bearer will use the same IP address.
