Ells
There were Flemish, Polish, Danish, English and Scottish ells of differing sizes. In England, the ell was usually 45 in (1.143 m), or a yard and a quarter, in Scotland it was standardised at approximately 37 inches (0.94 m), in parts of France and what is now Belgium it was 30 in (0.76 m).
