White Rose
Four of the group's core members—Hans Scholl, Willi Graf, Christoph Probst and Alexander Schmorell—were medical students who served on the Eastern Front. They were joined by Hans's student sister Sophie. They and their large support base distributed a series of eloquent and hard-hitting leaflets in Munich and then more widely, denouncing the Nazi regime and the persecution and mass murder of Jews. The core were arrested in February 1943 and they, and many whom the regime thought were connected, were executed. The last of their 6 leaflets were air-dropped by the Allies in July 1943.
