If 2x+3=9 then x=?

Question

If log 2 + log (3x + 1) = log (2x - 9) + 2,
then what is the value of x?
Note : Assume all log represented above is to the base of 10.

2x+3=9;
2x=9-3;
2x=6;
x=6/2;
x=3;

2X+3=5;
2X=5-3;
2X=2;
X=2/2;
X=1;
