The answer is 25.

Solution:

A = 0 + 1 = 1
B = 1 + 3 = 4
C = 4 + 5 = 9
D = 9 + 7 = 16
then
E = 16 + 9 = 25

Could also be,

A = 1^2 = 1

B = 2^2 = 4

C = 3^2 = 9

D = 4^2 = 16

E = 5^2 = 25

Both give E = 25 though so it doesn't really matter how you get there
