Can any one tell in which scenario we will use spatial multiplexing and transmit diversity?

I know these two are the transmission modes used in case of multiple antennas. I want to know any services as an example that use these two.

Its not depends on service, If ENB has multiple antenna then its upto ENB implementation which TM to use.Most of the ENB will use spatial multiplex on good channel condition time and transmit diversity on poor channel condition time.

If UE's not expecting more throughput then ENB can select transmit diversity for efficient transmission.
