LTE: Why LTE works at the granularity of 1 ms (sub frame level) not at the slot level i.e 0.5 ms ?

We know LTE scheduler works at the 1 millisecond level . Why it does not work at the 0.5 ms (slot) level ?

Hi,

Actually Scheduler will not utilixe the both slot. Actual Physical resource is 200RB in 20MHZ(slot 0 = 100, slot 1 = 100), but scheduler view is only 100 Rb in particular SF remaining 100 RB wil be utilized by PHY layer for the control as well as redundancy bits. Thats why scheduler operates at 1ms delay with only one slot utilization.

I mean to say, why does MIB transmit only on sub frame 0 not on other sub frames of same radio frame ?

Does really resource allocation happen in such a way ? When the number of allocated sub carriers may be different from first slot to second slot.

SRB0 is for rrc message on ccch ,
SRB1 rrc +nas messages on DCCH and SRB 1 has higher priority than SRB2

I saw a radio frame image which was consists of 10 sub frames. Each sub frame was showing PHICH and PCFICH. I know use of these two channels but want to know whether their positions are fixed or varies in each sub frame ?
