Assume I configured XYZ as APN but trying to attach to network. How APN validation work here. Is it bi-directional or uni-directional validation ? Please explain in detail.

Hi,

as per my knowledge it is implementation specific , UE will send selected APN in attach request, but MME can validate and select the default APN if invalid APN included in UE's IE. But there is no bi-directional validation process in LTE.

When UE sends Attach/PDN request with configured APN, MME then gets info from HSS about configured APNs for that IMSI. If APN is present in HSS profile then Attach is accepted and if APN is not present then you wii see PDN/Attach reject with cause

Assuming one case when UE was in LTE network and data transmission was ongoing. Due to incoming voice call, UE leaves LTE network and moves to legacy network to finish voice call. I want to know what will happen with ongoing data session in LTE network.
Does the LTE network deletes UE context ? Does the LTE network buffers UE data coming in downlink direction ? Or UE establishes voice as well as data session is legacy network and he continues voice and data services (less through due to legacy network speed) in case UE and legacy network both support DTM (Dual transmission mode) ?
