How UE knows the maximum MCS capacity of EnodeB?

From UE capability Information enodeB will get to know the max DL/UL MCS supported by UE. Then How UE knows the max DL/UL MCS supported by enodeB.

Enb broadcasts ul 64qam supported in sib2. From sib2, ue knows about 64 qam support in ul.

On the basis of ue capability, enb informs 256qam support in dl through rrc reconfiguration. Ie for 256qam support in dl in rrc reconfiguration is altCQI-Table-r12.

UE doesn't know about ENB capability, Why does UE wants this information?How ever ENB will select MCS for UL/DL based on UE capability so which ever MCS ENB selected is supported be ENB and UE.

Thanks for your answer.. Few things to know are.. In which message enodeB indicate to UE about the selected MCS? Suppose UE is capable of supporting 256QAM in downlink.. but enodeB can support only 64QAM in downlink... How UE is notified about MCS of EnodeB.
Hi,
ENB will send selected MCS in DL DCI message to UE. based on this UE will come to know ENB MCS for DL data.
During Attach procedure eNB will receive the UE capability information. Further eNB has to configure MAC according to negotiated values between eNB supported and UE supported.

Even though UE supported 256QAM, eNodeB also should be capable of that..

EnodeB considers CQI feedback from the UE before creating the transport block.
As per my understanding PUCCH resource allocation is not very dynamic. In this case how UE decide to use a specific MCS (Modulation and Coding Scheme) while using PUCCH channel ?

As far as I know eNodeB calculates the number of Physical Resource Blocks allocated to each UE, based on the specific metric, then takes the minimal modulation and coding scheme to deduce the transport block size that must be allocated to each user, Why this minimal MCS ? Isn't it too sub-optimal?

while performing handover ue needs to scan neighbour cells for handover ue usually don't have access to all cells to measure(measurement event/report) then how come ue will know which cells it needs to measure?
