What is the limit of neighbors for a LTE Cell
1> Max No. of Intra LTE Neighbors (Same eNb & Neighbor E-NodeB)
2> Max No of nbrs for IRAT (GSM/CDMA/3G) per eNb cell
3> Max no of nbrs which can be defined on S1 interface
4> Max no of nbrs which can be defined on X2 interface

Neighbors for an LTE Cell is mostly limited by the vendors equipment capacity, still to share atleast most of the vendors currently supports:

  1. Max No. of Intra LTE Neighbors within same eNb equal to no. of cells in eNB minus 1 (anyway all the cells under an eNB have to be nbrs) & Neighbors from other eNb (its 128) basically all together its 128 max per cell (so for enb with 3 cells no. of nbrs = 128x3=384)

  2. Max No. of nbrs for IRAT (GSM/CDMA/3G) per eNb cell (its 50 to GSM, 50 for wcdma and 50 to cdma, again that itself seems too many)

  3. Max no of nbrs which can be defined on S1 interface (you can define as many for S1 from 128, considering you don't overload your core, recommended is 20-25%)

  4. Max no of nbrs which can be defined on X2 interface (you can define as many for X2 from 128, keep mostly X2 type nbr relations)

By the way, operators mostly are fond of having UE based nbrs now a days for LTE network, wherein run time nbr creations based on UE measurement is possible.

Isint the X2 nbrs going to be less compared to the e-utran {S1} nbrs. Please advice what am i missing here, thanks.
Per cell i think we can have 128 S1 relations but only 48 X2.

If my understaing is correct then in case of carrier aggregation(CA), an UE can connect to multiple cells. One of the cell is known as primary cell while other cells are known as secondary cells. Primary cell physical layer failure is detected based on the receiving N310 consecutive "out of sync". Is the same case applicable for secondary cells as well ?

An UE configured for carrier aggregation, may have different radio channel conditions for primary and secondary cells.
I meant to say, primary cell may have strong signal strength at the same time UE may observed secondary cell(s) not too good.
In this case, does the same modulation and coding schemes used for primary and secondary or may use different coding and modulation schemes for different channels for the same sub frame?

LTE operates on 20 MHz band thats too much, is it mandatory for LTE to operate on 20 MHz spectrum or it is possible to operate in lower range also.
